Hello people! i have gone and done something REALLY foolish!

I have entered Ellie and BG into a stressage competition on the same day, but differant tests. As if it isnt bad enough that i am doing Stressage on the beast in the first place, i had to go and do two! anywho, tests are prelim 12 on BG, and 13 on Ellie. i tend to get confused wheni have a caller, but i might have to resort to having Ellies test called, as it will all go up the spout in one way or another anyway

HELP!!!!!

Learn the movements for both tests in advance, ie canter trans at C, long rein walk across the short diagonal, 20m clrcles at B and E etc, but only learn the order of the FIRST test. Then when you have ridden the first one (assuming more than 15min in between tests), then learn the order of the seond one.
I have to say though - I am good at memorising tests, so never gives me any probs. I have a great short term memory so this works for me (couldn't remember either the day after though I'm sure).
Good luck
Fiona

try learning the two tests as one, so instead of halting at the end of test one, learn it as though you carry on and do the second one, that helps me not to confuse the tests and get mixed up, it does make it a longer test to learn tho!

Fab, thanks guys. Fiona - i am very good at remembering one test at a time, but have never tried two

I can remember numerous jumping courses to be jumped in the same day, but there are visual reminders for that

i had to learn one over night on camp. basicallly all we did was draw the letters out on paper, hoved them on the yard under bricks at a fairly big size and did it on the yard. then when each person had done this we wrote it out off memor n saw how we did, then receited it to each other. and then i was stupid enough to go in the big menage and RUN the canter bits JOG the trot bits and WALK the walk bits. it was only short but i feel sorry for the horses, its hard work!!!!!

lol! im fine learning one, its just that im likely to get confused between the two. I will probably go for a caller for my first test (BG) as he is less complicated than the unruly pit pony - anywho im used to dressaging (if you can call it that

) on her and she needs my full concentration.

anyone want to take my unruly beast round a test for me? - ill ride the one who knows what he is doin!!

The only way I can do 2 & not get confused is to practise both in the week, then learn the first one 'properly' in the lorry on the way and the 2nd one between tests... My top tip would be to make 100% certain that you've got the up to date test versions as I had a slight hiccup with Novice 25 once, then got beeped after 10 seconds much to my surprise, had to borrow a 'spare' from the judge's writer & ride it 'blind' with hubby calling... Not gonna do THAT again in a hurry... (Dressage Diagrams is my saviour.)
