Any tips on restoring paint colour on trailer

As the title really - the colour of the paintwork on my Richardson trailer has faded. There is nothing wrong with it and so doesn't actually need re-painting but it could do with sprucing up. Has anybody got any tips, experience, or ideas of how to get the colour back?

I've got an old rice trailer with original paint work too, all in good conditoin but its gone soooo dull I tried to polish it up last summer using Arexons, i did a few test patches on each pannel, it came up well but faded a little after 2 weeks so i decided not to do all of the trailer as it didnt seem worth it for it to just fade again.

I believe, like cars that if you polish them you then need to apply a wax to 'seal' it. So i think this is maybe where i when wrong. But i cant find anyone who knows about this kind of thing to ask!! I took some pictures of the polished patches on it, i could post them if you wanted to see it?

Im half tempted to try and find someone who knows about this kind of thing as i'd really like to get my trailer looking not so dull.
