hi, well i have this jumping competition coming up, only a fun thing at my yard, but my friends dad is taking some proffesional pictures and i was just wondering if you had any extra tips to make my jumps perfect ?? please post any thing you can think of, thanks x :)

Hey there!
Walk the course really really thoroughly, make sure you know all the strides you're going to have to take, know what the ground is like on your path, know the problems you might encounter (well, be prepared!), and just breath and relax! Before the fence, count your strides as your riding it. It helps keep a good rhythm, helps you to get the perfect take off point, keeps you calm, keeps your concentration, and overall does wonders for your jump! Don't forget to warm up well, get the pony listening to you, do a couple of practice fences, but not too many because the pony's gonna need plenty of energy. Warm up for 20-30 mins max! Remember when walking the course, approx 2 strides before the fence is the take off point, and approx 2 strides after the fence is the landing point. And around 4 of your strides is the pony's.. depending on how big he is :p Walk the line you plan on riding!! Apart from that, just good luck!! Probably have left loads out, ask in Competition Riders also, there are tons of experts in there!!
So, who you planning on doing it on, and what size are the jumps E?! xx

Practice.
Make sure your horse is capable and fit enough to do the jumps you want to do.
Rhythm, rhythm and more rhythm in your paces

hi emilie ! lol x

well i am guessing this is stephs dad ?

anyways , make sure u fold when the horse does and don't fold to much or to little just flow with mozart x he is such a great jumper and u will be fine ! and defo don't fold early cos u don't know if mozart will suddenly spook at something and don't fold too late cos then u will jerk forward into your landing !

x :D x

well its just a bit of fun but i want to make sure i look good for the photos, umm if you remember it is on mozart, i am doing a 2ft course and a 2ft6 course, they arnt doing any higher, but like cos i am doing the 2ft course it will get mozart prepared for the 2ft6 course but if i watch meghan cos i think she is before me then i will get some tips from her ! :P :) p.s. thanks for the tips x
