Still doing the paddock fencing - but having exhausted all finances having paid out for one paddock to be done, I then hired an hydraulic hole borer (brilliant) but looking at one man operated hole borers on ebay now and need advice.

Has anyone bought, dealt with or used (please ask husbands, boyfriends, other friends etc) a DENA Heavy Duty Auger/Post Borer? If anyone logs into ebay, it's item number 130272831149 I'm looking at. Any and all opinions eagerly waited. Thanks.

I have one it is brilliant when the ground is soft (wet) but in this hard ground its back to a shovel and hole digger spade.

Is it that specific make you have? If so, how are you finding ease of use? Someone told me that that make has problems with carburretor? Want to find all the ins and outs about it. Thanks.

Yes I think they are ok in soft ground the still ones are good but i would try and find a farmer or contractor with a auger or better a post knocker on a tractor, measure up and go round with him placeing the posts,or you can also push them in with a digger!!! but be carefull if you do... stay out of the way once they are in position under the bucket...

The still ones are good and you can get parts for them too... they all are quite hard work to use and realy need two fellas on the job...

Thanks for the response but does anyone else have any points relevant to this particular machine. I'm hiring a hydraulic one at the moment which is brilliant and very easy to use (and yes, one woman can handle it!) but can't keep affording to hire, so saw this on ebay but want to know pros and cons before taking things further.
