Hi,

Does anyone know of any young men (ungelded) in cornwall, that might suit being a potential dad to Shanti (see pictures) She is as some of you will know Appy x Welsh D 14.3. Big tart but never been covered before (although the local young shire x gelding keeps trying!!!) Looking for something (possibly coloured or spotty) maybe 16hh (would produce something for me) or 13.2 min (would produce something i could produce) Would possibly consider buying the man to do the business but would then sell him on again and that is not fair. Was hoping that someone may know of someone who has a chap who fits the bill and we may be able to get the 2 of them together... would be prepared to pay ofcourse if she got into foal (and would sign something to that effect). Any Ideas???

I have a free return to my eclipse but do not want that for her, but am looking for something different and not used too much. would also like coloured or appy if possible, or maybe a dun. Not looking for anything special... just special to me.

Kings Composer is meant to be nice, he's at Dalcotes Stud in Newquay. They always have lovely horses at Stithians that they have bred, and they seem to do well in SJ.

My friend has just put her mare to a stallion called ZigZag, he's bay but have not seen him before, looks nice too.

Clive Phillips. the bsja course builder did have a spotty, don't know if he's still got it. If you'd consider a dun Spinway Kestrel, a connie is near Truro is nice too.
Or, what about a Cremello? Karensa at Trevoulter Barton has got one.

It just cost so much when I went the AI route with Eb's (I know it will cost either way but I just can't be doing with all the vets visits to scan and then just ending up with a huge bill) I know that could happen anyway but I want to keep it simple and natural this time.

Ok, here's an update:

this link provides a link from it to an 'over 18's site that may contain sexually explicit material' Didn't click on it thank god (am on work computer and can get away with acessing HHO but porn... well, no!):

I like the links to the 2 coloureds (thanks lexiedhb and dests) but something doesn't feel exactly right about them

What do you think about these chaps people. Have seen Rollin's offspring in the flesh and they are great, fun, responsive, fast learners.

I'm not keen on either of them, I think for Shanti you want something with a bit of TB or Warmblood to give height and refine her a little as she's quite a chunky monkey

Is this serious??

You want a local stallion so your mare can have 'a good seeing to.'
crazy.gif

You don't mind whether it's coloured or spotty, as long as the foal has colour.
crazy.gif

It doesn't have to be anything special, just 'special to you.'
crazy.gif

You would consider buying a stallion for one covering.
crazy.gif

You don't mind how a big the offspring is.
The stallion doesn't have to have done or achieved anything, or have any progeny on the ground, as long as it has colour and is local.

Have you tried local travellers?! They've probably got 10 of what you're looking for

Richard Nicholson,St Austell, has a lovely tobiano sports horse stallion who is graded with BSPA. He's by Goshka Ringo but is not homozygous so you've a 50% chance of a coloured foal. He covers in hand - I have 2 mares in foal to him due in a couple of weeks.

Ok, here we go:

1: Yes I am serious.

2: I want a local stallion so that she can have a 'good seeing to' meaning that I do not want to travel her too far and will not have AI, I certainly will not have her go to the local vets and have scans etc... without my being there. I would rather this mare be allowed to do it naturally hence the term 'good seeing to' which was as you obviously did not realise tounge in cheek!

3: I have a snowflake bay mare and would ideally like to put her to a nice appy or british spot, as long as the temprament is good and the confirmation. Although they are rarer than hens teeth in cornwall it would seem so failing that a nice coloured.

4: Not all stallions must have a string of cups and rosettes following them to produce a nice offspring.

5: It doesn't have to be special (as in it's offspring are always popping up for sale in the papers because they are by xxxx stallion) just special to me, in that I like it's temperament and confirmation

6: I would consider buying the right colt, because i would be working in conjunction with a friend, he would cover my mare and then she would be having him to geld and bring on for her children (if small) or herself (if larger)

7: I do not mind what height because it would either be a project that i would bring on and have fun with and either put out on loan or sell in the future if it is a pony. Or if i find the perfect sire and he is big enough the foal will be for me.

8: no it does not have to have won a load of cups and rosettes, I would rather a striking colour and am not going to just put her into foal for the sake of it because it has colour, but because I LIKE THE STALLION equally i am not just going to settle for something that is all singing all dancing but not quite fits the bill. In any case unless it ticks all boxes for me (not just colour and local) i will not put her into foal.

Actually travellers are out of the question since I can't abide feathers and ideally would like to refine and add height or refine and make smaller, but thank you for the suggestion.

Is there anything else that you need clarification on?
