any1 heard of mr prospector

iv got a leather headcollar i got out of melton for a quid a couple of months ago,its very old and got a brass name plate on it which says mr prospector with six month long underneath.iv googled the name and found that mr prospector was an american race horse which ran in triple crown and was well know but i cant seem to find anything out about the horse called six months long which was one of his offspring from what i can gather.any ideas or info?id love to find out more

If you go onto Racingpost.com and put in a search on either/both the horses names it comes up with their pedigrees etc. It think that it doesn't list their racing careers if they raced in USA. It definitely has their relatives - I've just looked! Good luck - maybe there is a US website that you could look at. Why don't you send Racingpost an enquiry - they might be able to point you in the right direction!

thanks for the links,i find it very interesting how the headcollar ended up in melton market lol it must be very well travelled.i reconise quite a few of the names in the pedigree,i found some pics of mr.p but not any of six months long up 2 yet
