He is the sire of a horse I went to try yesterday but don't know much about him other than he was a coloured stallion. The mare I tried is bay but would poss throw a coloured foal. Not that I am getting her with any intention of breeding.
She has fantastic paces and would do pure dressage but I'm looking for something to jump BS or possibly low level BE.
Just wondered if anyone had a horse by him and what you do with it etc. she seems an honest straight forward type and wondered if that's the norm :-)
Thanks :-)

He dressaged to Grand Prix and was a Grade A SJ so there's plenty of ability there. I don't directly know any by him but I do by his son Samthan who stood in Durham so theres a lot around by him (I'd check yours is def Samber site rather than grand sire as I think Samber only did live cover so mare would have had to travel to him (abroad) or the one you tried is imported. He died a few years ago but has left an enormous legacy and a huge number of coloured stallions/sport horses have Samber blood.

Yes she's definitely by Samber according to her passport. She's a lovely looking horse and seems laid back in temperament. Am going back to jump her at the weekend and fingers crossed she might be the one!

I loved my Samber boy, he was very quirky 17.3hh and would sit in his field like a dog, he evented, showed, dressage absolutely fabulous looked very much like Samber very flashy and absolutely straight forward to ride would put a child on him with no worries at all. Mine was a bit sensitive in his stable, but that was more to do with how he had been handled in Ireland.

Yes this mare has flashy paces too and seems straight forward to ride but who can tell after one ride! I don't think the previous owner jumped her much although she is obviously capable and seems to have a big pop in her. It's the only question mark over her really. I think the owner just didn't like jumping as opposed to there being any issues there. Will jump her again Sunday :-)

Im hoping this link works of him. He was my horse of a lifetime. I would buy another sight unseen if I had the chance I love this bloodline that much.

He is gorgeous!! This mare is a dark bay with a small white star and is very nicely put together and as I said moves very well. Am looking forward to seeing her again :-)

I've been a lurker on this site for a very long time, but just had to register so I could respond to this thread! I have a Samber mare (he was her grandsire, sire was Hercorose) and I've been interested to see some of his other offspring.

My little mare absolutely loves her jumping, rarely has a pole down, and never ever stops at a jump, although she does sometimes run out, just to make sure I'm concentrating! She's the most good natured horse and tries really hard. That's her in my profile picture.

Picture doesn't seem to be working, so hopefully this will

Yes my new boy has samber bloodlines. He also has Rubinstein. Very flashy paces, hoping to be my dressage project! He is a big boy at 17.1, coloured. Very easy to do and not an overly complicated ride. He tends to be quite spooky but this is from previous experiences, which we are working on and overcoming. He has a big bold jump too. Lovely horse!
