Anybody heard of the (sp) manicker ligament????

my mare is lame on her near hind,after nerve blocks n scans vet has mentioned it could be her manicker ligament dont know if thats how its spelt!!!! but she said if it is she will have to have op to remove!!! being re-scanned on monday so will ask more questions then,but nobody has heard of this and if i google it doesnt come up with anything either!! anybody have any ideas,many thanks..............
 
Yes I know what this is, my Kizzy tore hers on the right hind leg, a very unusual injury said my vet. She had surgery to remove it & tidy up the DDFT & also annular ligament cut. After intensive rehab she came sound & returned to eventing. However she then sustained the same injury on the left fore, had surgery again but had a longitudinal tear to the DDFT, despite our best efforts she didn't come sound & is now retired & a companion to my show jumper.
