Hi

A strange question, but worth asking!

I live in Suffolk and keep some sheep, just a hobby thing to provide a way of relaxing from work and some meat for the family. I keep the ewes at my in laws in the Hepworth area of Suffolk but live in Ingham. we really want to keep a couple more which would make 4 ewes in total and any lambs from time to time. to keep 4 though we would need a bit more grazing.

Has anyone on here got any small paddocks or odd bits of grass they would let me use, or know anyone else who may be able to help? Anything from half an acre upwards would be usefull. As this is a hobby and costs me more than it would to go to Waitrose and buy the lamb we cant really afford much rent but would consider whatever anyone comes up with. Some lamb each year for the freezer??

The sheep are checked 2 to 3 times a day and are looked after very well. I can provide all water etcetera and can use electric netting to contain them.

perfect area would be within 10 miles from Ingham or around Hepworth area but would consider anything anyone had to offer.

Just a thought, worth asking and thanks for looking.

regards

There is a chap round Newmarket who moves his sheep round the various studs, so it is mutually beneficial, studs get their grazing fertilised and 'sheeped' and obviously he rears his sheep without owning large amounts of land. It is on a slightly larger scale to what you are talking about, and it does involve shifting them around and juggling where you are going next, but it might be worth looking at it from a different angle, and almost 'sell' their services. Horsedates maybe?
