We bought Ace from Walton, Cheshire. We were complete novices and he was sold to us as a novice ride. Unfortunately it turned out that he was drugged and was in actual fact a loony!! We bought him on the 14th of August 2000 and he was ROUGHLY 7 years old. He was about 16hh and had white scarring (?) on his withers (bad saddle??).

We part-exchanged him 4 weeks later to a dealer called Linda in Lymm, Cheshire. Ace had lameness issues in his foreleg(s) and constantly lost his front shoes. He rodeoed in canter and attacked our YO in the field! He was apparently sold to a riding school in blackpool and re-schooled. He's a possible ex-racer, but we're not sure.
Would love to know how he's doing now.

Please contact me if you recognise him!

Many thanks.

Lou.

Do you have any more information on his name? did he have a registered name? If so you may be able to trace his history if he was a ex racer on the racing post website.

Im sorry that who ever you brought him from lied to you, it just seems more and more often that this kind of thing happens, absolutely awful for the new owners and confusing for the animal involved.

I hope that if he was passed to a riding school they managed to give him the time he needed to clear his head and come around.

I'm unsure but a young girl near me may have bought this horse. she is in bolton, dis it not like going in a menage? this horse goes mad if she tries and rears a lot if she gets it in, it wont load too. and she has told me that it is lame when it comes out of stable in morn. its just been diagnosed with white line disease aswell.
she had been told its 6 years.
please let me know if you have located it tho, if not i shall look into it further for you, the girl comes to my yard to attempt to use the menage on saturdays.
poor girls 16 years and a novice and this horse isnt for her at all, but its 1st own horse...need i say more ? they fall in love with any

Nope, still not traced him, so if you could look into it, that would be brilliant! Although he's more likely to be about 13 years old now, it's possible that she was lied to about his age.

I'm unsure about the menage thing - we didnt have one, and when we tried him out, we only hacked.

We only saw him load once (when he was picked up by the dealer) and he went in ok, but a lot can happen in 7 years.

Look forward to hearing from you!

Many thanks.
