Hi All,

As title, has anybody managed to ride on grass yet?!
I’m hoping with a few more dry days ahead it will become fit to use!!
It needs to continue though.. which is the hardest part ??‍♀️

Not for the most part as it’s still too wet. Found one place where we could have a 100m canter and that’s about it! Did ride in our field on Monday and it was soft but ok, but we’ve had more rain since then again.

I could be if we were in work right now. My stubble field is perfect at the moment... just when I have to get it plowed and planted. ?

Yep. Built myself a little riding area about 4 weeks ago. As long as I have 2 or 3 concecutive dry days I can ride in there. I have very sandy soil though. This means I don't get lots of mud in winter, but in summer I don't get much grass either.

Loads... This was one of my fields at the end of February... (my pony, not me riding!)

This was the other day. Some tracks are still rather wet, but they're drying out, and others are really rather nice now.

Yup! Still some boggy bits on the farm ride but most of it has really dried up over the past week and is lovely.

soil type is *everything*
30 mins up the road is on sand and wonderful all year round. We are clay and bogtastic. Bleugh.
Yet your fields always look like they are far less muddy than my winter field, and I've had to stable mine overnight since the middle of September to try to keep something. Mine are now out in their summer field which is still boggy in places but there's enough grass cover for it to be OK.
Next week I'm having the winter field harrowed and rolled and I would imagine I'd be ok to ride in it in a few days if the dry weather continues.
