I have used the original, now I'm using nedz bedz pro, as far as I understand, the advanced is not yet available to buy?
I like the pro, is great for deep bedding as well as everyday muck out, its easy to poo pick and stays looking nice and fresh, well apart from Holly's, but she can destroy anything.
It depends what type of bedding you or your horse like, original is made of wheat straw, therefore more fluffy and a bit tricky to muck out, also not that absorbent, the pro is rape straw and it appears more like wood fibre, it stays in place better and is less dusty. Yes, I would recommend the pro more I pay 5,70 plus VAT per bag
I have just changed my horse to nedz advance and it is fantastic! I was worried he may eat it but never even contemplated it. It is so absorbent I can't believe I have used shavings for so long as this is actually enjoyable to muck out. I have already recommended it to a couple of people and they are equally happy with it. Bit scary at first as it does look so different but it has now created a really nice fluffy base and I only put one bag in every ten days and that is with a very wet horse on rubber matting. The poo doesn't stick to the bedding so you don't end up chucking half of it away - my wheelbarrow has halved in muck each day. I may be able to get some pics up if I can work out how to do it!!
i have used pro for about 2 years & paid about £6.50 a bale for the last batch , however this is the last batch i will buy , 3 reasons
the bags were lighter than before
it doesn't seem as absorbent as it used to
one of the horses has inexplicably started eating it!
this coupled with a friend visiting the yard commenting that her last batch was the same & the fact that when i queried it with bedz bed they were not interested means i won't be buying it again
i have been trailing a few diffrent brands of shavings which have only been a snidge more expensive & definately more absorbent , ie works out about the same cost wise but cheaper on rug washing!

That's strange as they were brill when I called up asking about the new bedding - i was really indecisive and they helped me decide which was best

probably because you were a new customer looking to buy whereas i had a problem/query
just got my new delivery and guess what:
1.the bags are much lighter
2. it is an ugly grey colour and the texture isn't far from sawdust
absolutely rubbish!!! I am really cross
Advance - you put down 8-10 bags of the pellets which fluff up to a sawdust texture, very absorbant but can get cardboardy and packed down if not turned over enough. Easily remedied by mixing in a bale of Pro now and again (Spot the person who worked on a Nedz sponsored yard
I haven't noticed any confusion...
I'm talking about change of quality in the same type of nedz bedz - the pro, ie rape straw - my last delivery is absolutely rubbish, I took it out on my supplier, but that's not exactly their fault.
Talking about bags we do mean bales
No the Advance is in bags rather than bales - they take up about 1/4 of the space that the bales do but equate to the same amount of bedding once it has fluffed up.
The bags are different to bales. Hence my point about confusion. The bales are the size of a standard shavings bale. The bags are the size of a feed sack
OK, by bags much lighter I meant that my regular delivery of nedz bedz pro came in the same size of bales as usual, but not as compacted, therefore not weighing 20kg any more and have to use more
It could be due to the harvest this year as I know there are a lot of companies struggling to retain the exact same quality due to the horrendous weather we had in the summer - I guess being a natural product it is always going to vary slightly?
I am sure it is, but that doesn't make any difference to my dust sensitive horse, also I still have to pay the same price for poorer quality product and the difference is not slight by any means...
hi everyone, i just took a delivery of nedz advance yesterday. Can't tell you yet what I think but will start using it this week on my rubber beds. I must admit I have purchased this due to recommendation. 2 people won 3 months supply on my website and they raved about it and what with the thought of reduced mucking out, apparently it rots down really quickly and shavings being a bit rubbish I thought it would be worth a try. If I can find the link to one of the members who documented her time with it I will. Also i am giving away 6 months supply to one lucky member on the 21st December (if you are a member of MMH). Will go and dig out that link. Will definitely post how I get on.
I am writing an article reviewing different bedding types in the new year if anyone has comments they'd like to add please PM me! Need to get some really constructive feedback please, any help really appreciated.
I've been using Nedz Advance since July and I love it - rave about it to everyone I meet. It really does cut down on mucking out time and the size of the muck heap. You don't chuck out any clean stuff and I usually only add in a new bag every two weeks. It's probably the most user friendly horse bedding I've ever used and one of my horses who tends to cough a little has stopped coughing completely since being on Advance.
As for the Nedz Pro - I haven't noticed any difference in quality. The colour does vary, obviously depending on the source material, but it's certainly no different in coverage or dustiness - just as good as ever. And my bales feel as heavy as they ever did! I use it to bed down my field shelters and it does a grand job keeping the wet from rising to the top.
