Anybody used Succeed for Ulcers ?

Yet another Ulcer concern! The vet has recommended using the Succeed supplement for suspected Gastric ulcers and it works on the hind gut aswell.

Has anybody had any experience of it and does it work? At £98 a tub that lasts for 30 days its a rather expensive investment, its coveredby insurance.

I've done a free trial on my boy who the vet suspected ulcers but doesn't have them so not sure if my experience is a help at all? I am sure it added a bit of condition to him but didn't reduce his cribbing (why the vet suspected ulcers)

It is so difficult to pin point problems with Horses there are so many things that it could be, I don't know about you but then I start getting paranoid that my horse has every single problem under the sun and I become totally paranoid! I wish horses could talk it would make life so much easier!
I'm sure the vet thinks I'm a hypercondriac when it comes to my Horse, I rang them this morning about Succeed and that I would be going ahead with it and the receptionist responded with 'ok speak to you soon!' before she put the phone down, I now get really embarrassed everytime I ring the vet!

I've tried gastoguard and succeed with no success to reduce his cribing, plus he has cribbed since 2, so I am either very bad or it's just habit, my old vet was convinced otherwise....

Yes, using Succeed at the moment following on from treating gastric ulcers. Certainly making a difference to my girl.

Has the vet said you only need 30 days treatment or is has it got to be used as an ongoing supplement?

On going. Apparently it takes 3 months to have 'full effect' - so I'm planning on doing at last that long (done 6 weeks so far) but most likey until insurance runs out.

Are you back riding your horse? How long did it take to show a difference?

Not used it myself but has been recommended to me by a friend as they use it at a racing yard and they seem to think it works. I know how you feel about being a hypochondriac but sometimes it's a good thing, my horse is going through a battery of tests right now and they have found kissing spine Sometimes it's good to listen to your fears.

Mines got kissing spine aswell :-(
