Anyone remember a horse named Gemini ( may have been called Minnie too at some point) owned by Mr R Thornton?

Whilst packing I have come across Jamins things. I have tried contacting her last owner but have failed. Before jamin's last owner had her she belonged to Mr Thornton and was stabled at the above riding school.

Any info is appreciated.

I used to work there but not until 2000, so didn't know Gemini - there is a facebook group with lots of riders from Chelsfield though, try putting a post here: http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/group.php?gid=23387425005

I would try calling the centre - it has changed ownership now but for a very long time it was with a lady called Jan Golding. As far as I'm aware she still pops up to the centre so I'm sure you could ask for a message to be passed on to her. If anyone would be able to help I guess it would be Jan :) This is the website with contact details: http://www.chelsfieldequestriancentre.co.uk/

Oops, was about to post facebook group and website but Duckling got there first! Good luck with your search!:)

Shamelessly late, but I remember a little chestnut mare called Gemini. Is this the little horse in your sig? I'm sure I have a pic of me riding her somewhere!

Slightly off topic, but I went evening indoor SJing to Chelsfield a couple of times when I had a horse share/loan back in 1987 or so.

I think both times the competitions were on school nights and my Mum was livid that we didn't get home til midnight and I hadn't done my homework, so I was banned from going again!!

Hi Image, yes! That is her. Would love to see some old pics of her. She was a truly amazing pony and I miss her with all my heart every single day. Thank you so much for commenting on my old post. X

I'm so happy you got in touch with her old owner (although she told me off for making her cry as she was out at a work dinner!)

I'm sure I have photos too and I will have a look tonight, remind me as I'm terrible!

CL, it was all thanks to you! Hopefully we will all meet one day. I at least owe you a drink for all your help......plus, I'd love to meet Charmeur (hoping I've spelt that right )

Would be absolutely amazing if you could find photos! Thank you, thank you :D

Xx

Not a brilliant photo, I was in my early teens so this photo must be 17 years old!!

I knew her as Gemini, I absolutely loved her and have often wondered about her, but I was the poor kid at the riding school who couldn't afford regular lessons let alone my own horse :o

Hey Image!! I still remember you in those clothes! I always thought you looked posh, but hey I spent my life in saggy Reebok sweaters haha. The good old days, Chelsfield is totally different now xx

If I had to sum up my memory of you in one word, it would be purple lol! :D

I was definitely not posh, I had to save up my £3 weekly pocket money for a monthly lesson. I was so envious of you and the other girls. It was a great place though, everyone had such great respect for the horses, not like some of the yards I've been on...

Thank you so so much Image! I miss her so much. She was my world. She died last March from colic but up until that point she was a very happy, healthy 28 year old. I would give anything to have her back. We had almost 9 fantastic years together and she really was my best friend. My only regret is that we only had 9 years.

Thank you so much for posting a picture of you both together. I love hearing about her life. Thank you xx
