Anyone at East of England on Sunday?

If you are there on the Sunday and near the heavy horse ring, please come and wish Miss Farra Clydesdale luck on her heavy horse showing debute.

We are in at 9 am in hand and 12.15 in the ridden - very easy to spot us - small 16.2 sabino mare with brown spot on forelock, very badly plaited (traditionals are so much easier to get ready for the ring) and with a tiny fat rider onboard - true pea on a drum look.

This is Farra's first big show and I am hoping that her normal placid nature will stay in place.

Whatever you do - don't criticise her if in front of a short fat bloke - my OH says she is perfect and will stand scowling at anyone who does not think the same.

Do come and say hello - and I hope she is going to be a good girl as she is rather large should she choose not to.

I have been trying to get the heavy horse plait right and it now stays in, albeit a bit wonky. Tail is difficult as it is full length and very thick, so trying to do a version of a plaited heavy horse tail which really is more of a hunting/polo plait with some ribbon in it.

I'm hoping to go, if I can persuade my partner to come, it's fathers day so can't really take daughter and abandon him for the day!!
