hi im wanting to take my gelding hunting this yrear, iv been looking on the net for local hunts and the barlow seems to be the nearest, iv not hunted for about 10yrs so has anything changed since and mostly is the barlow full of happy friendly faces as will be doing it alone, please reassure me and give me a kick up the backside to get me out and about thanks

I thought you were more S35 side from your previous posts? In which case the Rockwood Harriers might be easier for you to get to

The Barlow hunt round where I live and just lately seem to have dwindled out a bit! They are not as popular as they once were - especially with landowners round here. I'd be really interested to hear what you think of them as I have heard rather poor reports (unrepaired damage to property, not very polite staff, trespassing). I hope these incidents were just one offs as they are the most local pack to me and it would be very handy to go out wih them once in a while!

Hopefully you have a fantastic time!

Try the Rockwood Harriers. They are doing 'new to hunting' days most Saturdays for £20 so could be good to get you back into the swing of things.

You could Pm Icemaiden on this Forum her husband is the new huntsman at the Barlow, I think an injection of young blood is what that hunt needed and with young hunt staff things will/are alot better, they are very friendly and keen to get going.
Ring the secretary and go for a day, their country is beautiful.
