I'm going to Centre Parcs next month (Elveden) and have booked myself in for Horse Logging. It sounds really interesting but I can't find any reviews or anything about it, other than what Centre Parcs say...

"Horse logging takes you back to the time when timber was hauled from forests using horses. A unique opportunity to enjoy a hands-on experience working with a horse from the ground, you'll get to know your horse as you learn to work with a harness horse. Under supervision, you'll be given the reins to drive the horse around an obstacle course. You'll then repeat the course but this time while the horse is hauling a log - without knocking over the obstacles! It's a lot trickier than it looks and an experience not to be missed."

... so I just wondered if anyone else had ever had a go, either at Centre Parcs or somewhere else, and what they thought of it.

I've just looked at the booking and there are still 3 places available, that means there still only me doing it so far!!!:D

Hi, i work at centre parcs elveden as part of the booking team. I'm not trying to sell cp to you, but horse logging is a popular activity that fills up nearer the time, so you'll probably find other people on the session while there. Also the lady that runs the session is very nice and a true horsey person. And personally i have never heard a complaint about the activity, although i have never done it. Hope thats helped you a bit and enjoy your stay

Thanks Steph! I'm glad the slots will fill up, might be a bit intense on my own! I'm really looking forward to it, so am glad to hear there's a nice lady teaching me.
Oh and trust me you don't need to sell Centre Parcs to me! It's already sold! I love it. We go almost every year now. The only one we haven't been to is Longleat, as it's so far away from us, but we love Elveden best. It's just fantastic!
