Anyone been on a.....

I went on a fantastic weeks holiday a few years ago to the Lipizzaner Stud Farm in Slovenia. It was advertised on Wish you Were Here but was actually really reasonable and because Slovenia is very cheap compared to the UK, ended up even cheaper than we thought. A group of four of us went and you stayed at the stud farm, dressage lessons and also hacking were the order of the day (we were just normal riders who went to a riding school once a week) and we had a fabulous time. Lipizzaners have a real sense of humour and in Spring you can watch all the folas out with the mares, when we went in May, there were about 20 foals and you could watch them all day. The place is called Lipica and it's where the Lipizanners originated from - would highly recommend!

Have a look on the Ride Uk website, with links to Bed and Breakfast for Horses ( BHS book)
or UK Chasers has Holiday section
or horseholidays uk

We prefer to go and stay and ride out each day, rather than have to move on and we go for a whole week.
Also like somewhere within easy stroll to a pub with food for evening meals

I went on a bridle rides holiday and it was great but exhausting. It was on the Cranbourne chase area and we went from place to place although you can probably stay in the same place. We had our husbands following us in the car and lorry and they met us at the other end. Definitely recommend it for the experience.
