Anyone been riding on Hayling Island beach?

Hi there,

Hope someone can help! Does anyone know the restrictions of what time you can ride on West Beach, Hayling Island. A sign at the beach said off by 10am, but the website for Hayling says off by 8am? Has anyone been recently and could help?

I don't know, but you could ring Havant Council and they will tell you.

I've been in the evenings and you cant get on the beach till after 7pm, not sure about the mornings though.

Not sure about mornings either, but the evening time is right. You need to be really careful about the tides and know when it's coming in as it's quite a fast tide.

A couple of years back a horse was drowned as the riders had gone out quite a way and they slowly got surrounded by the sea and were left on a sand bank. The horse wouldn't go into the water to swim to shore. The rider had to get off and swim herself, the horse refused and was never seen again.
