Anyone been to Kentucky 3DE? (Also in Tack Room)

Hey there! Was just wondering if anyone has been to Kentucky 3 Day Event. I will be going for the first time this year (hopefully!). I will be going by myself either by bus or a combination of bus and plane and was thinking of staying at a hotel nearby and getting a taxi to the event every day. Not ideal really but if I have to I will as this is pretty once in a lifetime for me (and I will be missing Badminton in the spring for the first time in 10 years). Anyone have any other suggestions as to how I could work this? I may have a friend going with me who has a car but she isn't sure if she is going yet. Can't hire a car myself as it would cost a fortune with me being under 25.

Suggestions welcome!
 
I have not been to the 3 day event but went to WEG. We did have a car but if you look on their website or the Kentucky Horse park web site and chose a hotel that runs a shuttle bus to the event. You will have a fantastic time the closer you stay there will be other people visiting the event to chat to.

Didn't know they did this, thank you! Will definitely try and get a hotel with a shuttle bus, that would be very very helpful.
 
Groomed out in Kentucky last year and it is amazing out there! There is a camp site on the Horse Park which you could sort out a campervan/caravan to hire.
 
I went the year before WEG but it was an organised 3 week trip so I can't be any help regarding transport.

I had a really fantastic time and would love to go again. We also visited the Kentucky horse park, local studs, keeneland racecourse, Churchill downs etc - great memories.

Sounds fantastic! I've been to KHP before but never to Churchill Downs or Keeneland (although I have had the opportunity to go to both, I couldn't make it :( ) but I don't think I could fit those in in this trip purely due to the transport issue (unless my friend decides to come with her car). One day hopefully!
