The zips gone on my beloved Musto Snug jacket, not bad for the 17 years wear it's given me. I just wondered if anyone had been to the shop they have at Bicester village and whether it's worth going there for a replacement. Ideally I would like another Musto snug or blousen style jacket.

Always moaned that my snug was expensive for a non waterproof jacket but I have realised that due to it not being waterproof it's dead easy to keep clean as whenever it gets messy I can just chuck it in the washing machine and not worry about losing the proofing!

Been to Bicester Village and couldn't afford a cup of coffee !, might be worth you calling the shop before making the trip because although the shops are advertised as 'outlet' none of them seemed good value to me.

It's horrendously expensive!!! And none of the shops really seem to have a good range of stuff in them.

I've got a Musto Kempton jacket for sale in a size 10 if you're interested? Only worn a handful of times and professionally cleaned and re-proofed by Musto (unworn since and still in the packaging they sent it back in!). Only for sale as I prefer the longer length jacket. Asking for well under the £165 RRP. Send me a message if you're interested...

I live near Bicester and don't bother going to BV. Last time I went the Musto shop didn't have any riding gear - it was all lifestyle clothing.

FWIW, I've got a verrrrry old Musto Snugs in pink - must be a good 10-15 years old. Firstly the zip pull went - no probs - threaded a pink paperclip through the zipper - job's a good 'un. Then the zip itself got temperamental & finally gave up the ghost. I got another fleece jacket, but it's simply not the same, hay etc sticks to it, etc. I've limped on with this new jacket for several years while keeping an eye on ebay etc for another Musto Snugs, & 2 weeks ago I finally admitted defeat & took my pink jacket to the dry cleaners to have another zip put in. Ridiculous amount of money to spend on an old jacket, & the look on the woman's face when I said it was my favourite...

But it IS my favourite, & my life will be complete when I get it back & can wear it again!

None of the Musto outlets are cheap, you're better off buying their kit through sailing stores I've found, their sales tend to be better than outlet prices.

Thanks everyone. Don't think I will bother going there. Will soldier on with my current one. My brother is a sailor so will get him to keep his ear to the ground for sales. I did get a zip replaced on another coat which was expensive but will have a think about what I want to do. Can't complain, 16 years is good for a coat.

Musto will replace a zip if that's all that's wrong. Think it was about £30 when I rang for a quote but they then very kindly replaced and returned it free of charge. Excellent customer service. I then went and purchased another so I have one for best and one for the yard!

In our town there is a haberdashery shop that does clothing repairs. Perhaps that option would be cheaper than returning the coat to Musto. Also ask your friends there may be someone who would fit a zip for you.
I replace zips and alter coats and horse rugs all the time. It is often cheaper to buy a charity shops coat and using the zip from it than buying a new one as new open end zips are expensive.

Not been to the Musto shop at BV, but my OH got a gorgeous Jaeger suit there for £99 - sometimes it's worth having a little rummage.
