Anyone been to or going to the British Open?

I amazingly won two tickets to the British Open for Friday and wondered if anyone has been or could tell me if it was worth the train fare (less than £20!)
I like showjumping so it looks like it would be a great day out

I went last year and really enjoyed it! Paid for the good seats, travel from wales to sheffield and a hotel so if you can go for £20 travel only then go! lol

I've been twice when it was in Sheffield but now they have moved it to Birmingham so won't be going this year.

Don't really know why they have done that though cos the arena was never full so I don't know how they are going to fill the NEC!?

It is really good - lots of different horse stuff not just SJ - and lots of shopping too!

im going on thursday, have been before when at sheffield as it only 10 mins away by car. luckly some of the others at the yard are going too so i've got a lift to birmingham.
i would have rather gone to watch geoff billington though last month.
never mind will be shopping there anyway so i will be bling the neddys up ready for summer.
must cut up those credit cards though.

I've won tickets on Friday too! From Horse magazine I think! Anyway, I went last year in Sheffield and it was fabulous. I wasn't going to go this year because Brum is a little far, but seeing as how I won tickets then why not! You'll have a great time - I hope we get good seats!

Im going on the thursday. First time going. But as you said Santa145 the schedule looks good so thought id give it a look!
Not so bad being in Birmingham for me as it will only take an hour or so in the car.

We went last year on Saturday - brilliant evening. This year we have tickets for Sunday - for the finals as a special treat for the girls!! Looking forward to it.
