Looking at these as I ride my horse normally in a verbindend, but need some extra brakes for xc and sj so wondered about the universal? Cheaper than the NS version and more shaped to the mouth. Anyone got one that they can give me a verdict on?

was hoping for an unbiased opinion, although knew they would see the post of course! Plus their ebay shop is closed until 1st nov so assumed they were away so couldn't really ask.

ah, true but I figure that she wouldnt put anything for sale that she hadnt tried on her own horses or trialled on something. I saw it last week whilst brake window hunting and really liked the look of it.

I really like it, and apart from the fact that the lozenge doesn't seemed to be angles like the NS bit it looks just like the shape of my verbindend, which I know he is comfortable with - just need that litte bit extra for more exciting disciplines!

ok - another question. Would you stich a strap on (a back strap or curb strap - not sure what you'd call it!) or leave it as it is? I have an old english hackamore I could pinch a strap off. What is its purpose? Does it jsut limit the poll pressure and add another pressure point?

Zoon, I've got their original CS Universal and am planning to put a strap behind it to try for Hunting, not sure if it limits the poll pressure, but it does add another pressure point.

Am going to try the tongue saver loose ring for schooling in.

Ive spoken to CS about these, and she says its more similar to the NS starter as there isnt the angle on the lozenge. She has tried them on her own horses, and he has been placed or won everytime out wearing it Sjing, so he is obviously happy in it!! I am getting one for my mare and have encouraged others on out yard to look into them aswell

It isn't the lozenge angle that's important to me - more the shape through the mouth. Will go ahead and order one I think :-)
