Are all our neds getting a day off today due to this awful rain?! It stopped at about 12 and the sun came out - needless to say it's back pouring it down again
Just wondering this myself! The only reason I don't ride in the rain is because everyone will think i'm mental so...if enough people are i'll get out there
was at the yard doing what needed to be done, just about to leave and well, needless to say the heavens opened and i was caught in the hay barn. RAN onto the yard to get a coat and headcollars in case the boys were miserable.
well Teddy was shaking with cold and Marley was shaking with fear so got both of them in with coolers on. poor boys miserable is the word. wouldve left them out otherwise
well we had really heavy rain early this morning, stopped at about 9 - now its just overcast, hoping it'll stay this way until this evening so i can ride, got soaked last night, it waited until i was in the farthest away fields from the yard and then chucked it down! typical!
I'm with you AmyMay, rode out last night, was thundery and started raining on my way back, idiot on a motorbike with full beam light came flying up the road at us hardly slowed down, scared the life out of Jasper, I thought we were going to end up in the river!! No riding tonight, too much mud, plenty of grooming to do though!!
Providing its not too heavy and the clouds aren't too dark I will be, only a quick one though. Need to keep my horse fit, and whilst I can kid myself, I don't think his daily occupation as a lawnmower does that very effectively!
I rode out last night in the rain and then came back and did a bit of schooling and it was raining but nothing heavy, it was quite nice actually as it was that warm summer rain that doesn't really get you wet....if that makes sense.
But today....ewwwwwww its that sort that gets you wet, all the neds on our livery yard are out naked, but there all the sort that will be fine getting wet if you see what I mean, there no way I could put a light rain sheet on my lad, he'd be sweeting bucket loads when its warm and stuffy like this.
We've not got so much rain now just gale force winds so i will definately not be riding today especially after seeing the horses hooning round the field. i can't believe it's july, well i can really it is england i spose but still
My lad doesnt do rain when being ridden. If it rains when he is in the field its fine but if he is being ridden its really scary and all the cars make scary noises and his legs get really wet and the puddles appear with the horse eating monsters in them!
well was going to lunge but the field will be soaked and slippy so thats a no non so i thought i would ride but he will be soaked so that will be a no no so all depends on how hard the rain is when i get there i will either walk him in hard long rein or just give him the day off!
Just back!! it was so blustery and awful that i only did about 30 minutes schooling. Just couldn't get the boy to concentrate - he's a bigger wimp than me when it come to adverse weather conditions!!!
Ha! Despite my earlier bravado I have chickened out, wouldn't mind rain on its own, but never fancy the wind/rain combo. Ponio shall be getting fat today then
I rode about 1 o clock and it was chucking it down, Needless to say ten minutes into ride we was both soaking wet.
Was a good idea to ride at the time but looking back it wasnt lol.
