Clipped Bee on 16th Sept then again on 12th Oct so only 4 weeks apart but there was a lot of growth and she was starting to sweat up again. Noticed last night she is sweating again and starting to get a bit hairy. She is good to clip, I don't mind clipping but now wondering just how often I am going to have to clip her this year.

I know showjumpers are clipped regularly, but what is regular, every 4 weeks?

Last year she was out longer, ridden less and not as fit so only had an Irish clip, but she is fit now, ridden 5 - 6 times a week & competes once a week. She is in a hunter clip..

So not unusual then? I love the fresh clipped look anyway. Bee HATES being hot, so only have a L/W on her and she is still rubbing it along the walls & hedges, would be tempted to turnout naked only she has no protection from rain. It is just starting to get a little cooler at night but nothing major! So looks like we will clip again..

Coloured is on his third, Chesty on first and Bay on 2nd. Coloured is only one I have rule over and I am one of those that would rather (and has time to) clip mine every couple of weeks.

Mine was done 3 weeks ago I think, but won't be done again until mid-late november. She's getting sweaty again already though.

Yep - one in September and now overdue for another but went on hols for a week and he didn't do anything whilst I was away so left him (also so horse sitter wouldn't have to mess about with rugs too much)- going to do Thursday or Friday before opening meet. He really has got very hairy very quickly this year...

I don't know what is going on! I usually find that clips in early October, December and February are enough. This year, I clipped Flora two weeks ago and already I see her coat coming back in

It looks like she will need doing again in another couple of weeks. I hope this doesn't mean it will be every 4 weeks throughout the winter
