I was going to take Hovis to it next saturday but someone at the yard has advised me not to. Not because the people aren't lovely and helpful but because Hovis will struggle with the turns in the course.
They said the course is usually set up for ponies and thus Hovis (who is a 4.5 year old 15.3HH Clyesdale course destroyer) wouldn't be able to cope with the turns or the striding.
I've left a message on the answer machine for someone to give me a ring from the centre but wondered if anyone here had been?

Haven't been but we are holding a show 20th July in Wasingborough near Lincoln.
Complete begginner rings to advanced rings.
Your horse will be very at home.
in hand/ridden showing Chaps & Equestrian life qualifiers, All horse/shires showjumping qualifiers beginneer to advanced show jumping, gymkan, dog show. Trophies, posh rosettes and prizes.
All welcome.
Pm address for schedule - cheap entry!!!!

I would ring up Trent Valley and ask them about the course. Surely if its for nervous and novice riders (even on ponies) the turns aren't going to be that sharp and the distances won't be unforgiving. I'd give them a call and explain about Hovis, and see if they think the course would be suitable for him.

We went to an indoor XC there, the distances werent great tbh!! BUT the nervous and novice is very little, so wouldnt think you would have too much of a problem as they would require minimal setting up as such?

I went along on a friends very very green 16hh youngster and although we only did the clear round ( 1st trip out and just wanted to see how he reacted) we never had a problem, clear round you can ask for the jumps at any height and they are very accomodating about altering and helping out.
The classes they run are a 45cm a 55cm and a 65cm so small enough that you really dont need to worry about setting the horse up. Go along and have a look but i honestly dont think you would have a problem.
