Will's feet have now become so soft with the wet ground I've resorted to wrapping the bruised one in a nappy inside a poultice boot!

Seems to be drying it up so well have ordered one for the other foot, sure the vet thinks I'm crazy and had a good laugh but heck if it works............Anyone else having problems as a result of the wet?

We were fine till Thurs when it rained consistently for 24 hours!! We now have a huge lake in the middle of the field..... That said, I only have two on it so it's not too bad however, turnout boots are at the ready.....

(BTW we used to do the nappy thing too - it works a treat!)

I've now resorted to electric fencing across the concrete yard so he has access to that and the stable only. His soles are too soft/sore/thin to go barefoot on concrete so now using nappies inside Old Mac boots.

Beginning to wonder if I will ever get him right although farrier says he knows plenty of ex-laminitics that manage shoeless. To cut a very long story short he kept losing his off fore shoe and in early June farrier suggested trying barefoot. He was doing really well following about 3-4 weeks box rest then restricted to a little paddock. Then it rained, and rained and rained and it's still effing raining!!!!

Much of the torn and damaged horn is now grown out but there's still some growing to do and he's on Biometh Z to help things along. Meanwhile the main issue seems to be keeping his feet dry without making them 'sweat'. Scotsmare what exactly do you do with your nappies?
