Always bought masta as they fit well an my girls always been 6'9 in t/o rugs an 7' in stable (so I can fit a fleece under it if need be) ordered a 6'9 t/o the other week an its huge on her, judging by the size I reckon she could have done with a 6'3, shes been out of work for a bit due to foot abscesses so has lost a bit of muscle but 6" worth?
Anyone else found this?

I found this 12 yrs ago and never bought another until this yr. bought a 6'6 heavy combo and its huge luckily as hes just gone into a 6'9 weatherbeeta so think it should still fit him, if it ever gets cold enough for him to need a heavy weight rug on

My 8 month old is in a master t/o 5"3' and it fits him perfectly. Bought him a lovely mark Todd stable rug in same size and it's too small (his bum cheeks stick out, bless him!) he's only ever had this rug on so never really thought about it before but maybe they do come up a bit big x

Funnily enough I always found them a bit neat in comparison to Weatherbeetas but I'm not sure if it is just my horses build Masta didn't suit!

I'm another who has found my latest masta turnout a little neat... Alway wears a 6'6 turnout but this one leaves a little too much clipped bare bum on show :)

I think one of the problems is the various brands have different fittings. My warm bloods when babies need narrow Amigo rugs but as they get a bit older (2) can migrate into Shires & Mark Todds. My 13 year old Trakehner/TB is a lovely girl with a lot of substance and she definitely needs something with a decent chest width. I have some Mastas that fit ok but one 6'9" stable rug that is awful & won't fit anything even my chunky ID - far too big on the chest. I like Shires at the moment for effective but not too expensive rugs.

I bought a h/w Masta stable rug a few years ago. It was basically well made and good value. For my horse, who suits most 6'3" rugs, it fitted nicely round his shoulder and under his belly but as the quilted fabric was quite stiff it didn't sit well on his quarters and stuck straight out at the back. I sorted it out by just sewing in a couple of darts over his bum. I did write to Masta explaining the design problem and suggesting they considered adding darts to give a better shape but never got a reply. I've still got the rug, it fits great now and kept him lovely and warm when we had two winters with several weeks at -12 C.

I bought a 6 ft 3 stable rug (the purple check one) for my TB whose other rugs are 6 ft 3, & it was far too big for him, & also too big for my chunky ISH who is 6 ft 6 to 6 ft 9! The ISH has been stuck with it as it fits him the least badly, & I got the TB something else.

Whereas a Masta t/o that I bought aaaaages ago is cut so stingily that the horse looks as if he's wearing a mini-skirt! Poor ISH has been stuck with that one as well.

I've learned not to buy Masta!

Used to love Mastas but not impressed with the two stable rugs I bought 15 months ago - huge necks and the stitching started going after just a month of use :(

I tend to find Masta are quite deep but always come up short.

I'm hugely disappointed with Shires at the moment though. Bought my lad a new 100gm turnout and half his bum is hanging out of it and the leg straps fit like a thong!!! Had to replace the leg straps, they were so tight.

I'm a Weatherbeeta fan, if I'm honest and they're one of the few manufacturers that still make massive sizes.
