Beforehand I was all competition-focused, now I just want to have fun! I have been riding bareback a lot lately and just playing, whereas just before my baby arrived I was trying out the next level up in Dressage and focusing on getting a good score. I still love my horse to bits, but it's enough just to enjoy her company and have fun now.

Yep agree and my daughter is now 17. What I find hard is hacking with her I enjoy it but feel responsible for her and myself, when I hack with friends I just worry for myself. Joys of being a mum

Yes!
Although never overly competitive, I did compete and enjoyed schooling the horse to a high level.
Since having children, I've been to a handful of competitions, so sold the trailer and 4x4 a couple of years back.
I am more than happy to pootle round the lanes having a lovely hack :)

Yes.... I find that when i compete especially doing xc or sj my level of self preservation is much higher now then before I had children.
