I wonder if it's the grass or something? But my mare is always a bit chunky in summer then looses it in winter too much. She ends up to a bcs of 2.5, with good quality (and lots of!) Feed 3 x a day, adlib forage etc..
However, this year she is maintaining her weight well! She has lost some since summer- what she needed- but has a perfect bcs score of 3- despite half as much of feed (calories)
just wondered if anyone else has found the same and why it is?
Her routine, workload etc is all the same.

She is currently on baileys performance balancer, sugar beet and Alfa a oil.

Last year she had the above with top line cubes, outshine and blue chip instead of baileys, and digestion supplement!

Winter really only started for real in the last week or so, until then it has been mild and, with us, the grass was still growing in November, I think you should now start to notice a change soon as it is properly cold and the grass has stopped growing, at last.
