Anyone else given up competing for the moment?

It's got to the time of the year when there's countless shows and I can't go

I have a horsebox but for one reason and another haven't been able to use it since last August. Having to sell it because I'm going back to uni and can't afford to keep it. Hopefully in a year or so I can get a job and afford another box! Anyone else in a similar position?

Yes me. I cannot afford a trailer,let alone a box. The diesel prices are stupid and a day out would be just too much. Even our farrier was commenting on it the other day, hesaid several clients are cutting back and being really choosey about where they travel to and which shows.

I don't have my trailer test so need my Dad to drive me, and he doesn't want to take me to shows anymore. I can't afford to do the test at present, so competing is out. Also, horse was not going that well, so it felt like burning tenners.
