Anyone else had a strange experience whilst hacking out?

Not had any people enjoying themselves but did see a dead Staffi type puppy in a bag :(

Someone who used to teach at yard where H is was taking a lesson out once and said they saw a large cat.
 
My local bridleway is a very active gay and dogging meeting place. I have seen lots of activity I would have rather not, lots of magazines, underware and some interesting notes pinned to trees.
I had to knock on a couples window once who were doing something they shouldn't have been in their car and were blocking the gateway to my horses, the poor girl looked completely embrassed.

On a sadder note my then YO came across a body in a ditch on her hack. It turned out to be a GP who had disappeared from our town a few weeks earlier. Next to him were several pill bottles and empty whiskey bottles. Glad I missed out on that one.

Hahaha all these stories are hilarious... I will tell me friend up at the yard that she's not the only one!!!

Asia people actually go flashing... I thought it was more of a joke than anything else..fruit bats!!!!
 
Friend was asked directions by a man in a Fiesta from her horse. She gave directions and went to leave and he said Oh no I meant ... She looked back and realised he was naked from the waist down. She was so shocked she hit him through the open window with her whip and shouted ' oh you pervert'. He was seen several times by people on horses and then disappeared. Then about 5 years later a flasher in a hatchback car was seen a few times again. Did wonder if it was the same person.
 
Not quite the same but a friend was hacking home from a boxing day meet years ago & found a pup. The horrid thing was it was on a quiet bridleway through woods, & hadn't been there in daylight earlier, someone obviously tied it deliberately to a tree on a freezing evening not expecting it to be found. Nice ending though, she kept it for nearly 17yrs.
 
recently - man considerately removing himself from the footpath to have a pee against a tree only to realise that there is a bridlepath that runs parallel:o, oh and the guy who decided to do pressups on the pavement - this did not meet with the boys approval :D

in the 'old' days (aka in my teens!) we used to have a bridlepath that ran adjacent to the field in which the circus wintered over their performing animals (in the days when they were alllowed to use them!), lets just say going for a blast had a whole new dimension when some of those beasties decided to stick their heads over the hedge!!

I have only ever seen one couple at it in a car on my rides, I knew the guy as he has a very individual car, it was the middle of the day & they weren't very far off the track that everyone walks their dogs down so they obviously didn't mind being seen too much.

My favourite was passing an old man (in his late 60s I would say) mowing his front garden in what was basically a pair of speedos. I had to try very hard not to laugh as we rode past. Again his road is just off a main road & leads out to the countryside so I'm sure a fair few people saw him.
 
Not hacking but back in my running club days we used to be doing a tracked in the Forest of Dean and would regularly meet a camel and alpacas being walked out in hand.

Most recent bizarre moment was being met by a local farmer who stopped in front of me on lane and opened a gate I asked if he was driving cattle in there? He said "no you you need to go in" with that about 70 young cattle came over the brow of the hill and i happily went into field. he shut gate and said someone would let me out in a bit! Was very grateful but in 20+ years hacking around there it had never happened before
 
have seen a big black cat :eek: then last week was going for a canter on the sand track in the woods when my horse stopped dead (nearly went over his head!) when all of a sudden something big and black about 20 feet in front of us ran straight across the path into the woods!! took me a good ten mins before i could get horse to move again but he was not happy snorting ears right back and really jumpy!

also at stables ive seen/heard people but ive been alone :/

When I was about 13 and lived in England I had a beautiful grey mare. Was out riding her one day and this guy appeared from behind a hedge just in front of me. Just as I was riding past he opened up his dirty mac and flashed me! Shocked I turned around and said quite cocky 'My horse has a bigger willy than yours' To which he shut his mac. I was so upset thinking 'I bet he thinks I know nothing about horses as I am clearly riding a mare'
Do they still have 'Flashers in England?

Sounds a bit like what a friend of mine said to a flasher when she was out walking her dogs - I've seen bigger worms in my garden" Classic!
