As title. My boy has a Dire Starits song for his name. Not named by me I hasten to add.

I love that song and it has only taken me 10 years to make the connection. As an aside my name is the same as a top equine shipping agent!

And BRILLIANTLY performed by the fantastic Cleo Laine! Which is why your baby got that name as his Mum is Corraslira Cleo - and I'm a great Cleo Laine fan.

Cleo's first foal was Jazz King, then Fascinating Rhythm, then Lady Ella (for Ella Fitzgerald who was Cleo Laine's muse), and then Clementine (which was Cleo Laine's 'real' Christian name. The next one is due in a couple of weeks - haven't decided what it will be yet - but it'll come to me.:D

I've got another - Cleo's Mum is Corraslira Lady - and all her foals (by Lady's Tralee Raj) have a 'lady' theme. The first filly is Three Times a Lady (Trio for short.)

Serenity - that's an unusual spelling of the name 'Dorian'. I've never seen it spelt with two ns before. I've also asked you this before but you've never replied - why is your mare named after a male character?

My mare is Ruby (Ruby, Ruby, Ruby).
And her foal from last year is Four Seasons (by Vivaldi) and that is quite literal as the stallion is called Vivaldi. He had to have a musical name because Ruby's sire is Wolfgang (as in Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart).

My girl came with her name - she's named after a Bon Jovi song - Tokyo Road. Very unusual and gets loads of comments.

JG - I love your name themes!!! If you get a colt how about Mr Dankworth? Wonderful music and sadly missed.

Thought i would do a quick check to see if there was a song with my horses name.

Found Joss Stone singing 'Alfie'

I'm not sure if its just called 'Alfie' or 'Whats it all about Alfie', may use the 'Whats it all about Alfie' next time we go to a show.

Maybe i should try 'Whats it all about Alfie and why do we bother' :D

Not MR. Dankworth - it would have to be Sir John!:D I LOVED John Dankworth - I worked on their first Australian tour and both Cleo and John were LOVELY people - not at all 'difficult' like some performers (even when I accidentally sent their band to the wrong hotel!) John had the most fantastic sense of humour - as does Cleo. I just LOVE their music!

Bred a few named after Irish tune titles/songs - Free and Easy and Love at the Endings were two of my favourites. Monty has no registered name, so I'm currently coming up with a shortlist to apply for.... I have my favourite, hope we get that one :D

Mine's called "London Calling" (the clash) as reg name. All of the jumping horses I have and name have names that are conected in some way with London as a running theme. Normally parts of London, boroughs, areas etc. but this one seemed to suit better.
