Used to jump for the sake of it, never over 90cm though cause im a woos!

jumped for the first time today in about 6 months on a pony that I had only been riding for 10 mins (silly I know) but I thought whats the worse that can happen??

well smack I go onto the floor, massive pain in my back, couldn't get up for 5 mins. now im sitting in bed and can barley move.

ugh why does this always happen to me?! when I fall off im normally just like "woops" and get back on but this time I knew something wasn't right. got back on eventually for 2 mins just walking then got off and went home.

Sticking to hacking and schooling from now on :D

Yes! My pony is a RIHS/HOYS standard workers pony, but I just don't enjoy it. So I get someone else to jump him, and I stick to flatwork which is what I enjoy. No point doing it if you don't like it!

I'm not keen either. I used to jump 2'6"- 3' when I was a young 'un and thought those were boring "baby jumps", I wanted to do 4' and higher!! Now I have a paddy doing 1' and had to grit my teeth when I did 1'9" a few months ago. It doesn't help that I broke my rib falling off over a 1' jump. It was then that I realized that when I fall off now, I thud and lie there instead of bouncing up straight away! :p

I'm so glad that I've retired my horse from jumping now due to a dodgy fetlock joint so don't feel pressured to jump now. I much prefer the perfection of showing and dressage now!

I've always loved the idea of jumping but unfortunately never had horses that enjoyed or had the talent for it namely Arabs which would kangaroo hop! I did reschool the purebred doing grid work so could do a little course on her but no shows! I'd love to ride a natural jumper! Hopefully my filly will enjoy it as her sire is supposed to be quite handy! I'll definitely be having lessons though as my confidence is off due to fear of horse stopping/being left behind like my ex flat racer used to do!

I've never enjoyed jumping, even when I was a young a fearless teenager, so only do it now if we come across an obstacle on a hack or if there is a jump in a TREC comp (and even those are done under protest!). Thankfully my horse is a bit arthritic now, so good excuse not to jump :D

I love jumping, and would love to have the confidence to jump, but sadly I don't in my older age now!! I have jumped my mare 3'3 in a moment of madness, but I prefer to stick to flatwork these days!

10 months into owning my boy and I still haven't jumped him.

I used to jump a fair bit when I was younger and did a bit of affiliated but really not fussed now. When I was looking for a new horse I did pop a small jump on most of the ones that I tried - or at least those that the sellers said could jump & demonstrated but the girl I brought him form was a non jumper herself.

Turns out he does jump and really enjoys it (YO has been jumping him a bit), so who knows maybe I'll get round to giving it a go

I used to live jumping but after trying dressage which I hated and had no interest in doing until I my instructor said it would improve obidience so be better for jumping.

Now I love dressage and lay on my sofa after falling off again jumping I don't want to do it again!

Just want to say if it hurts that much do you need to get yourself checked out?

I'm not a massive jumpink fan and have no desire to compete in jumping again but km quite happy to school over jumps at home on the right horse.
