My OH has accused me of this tonight - if only i had x, y or Z - life would be better, if only i could have lessons every week - life would be better - if only i had this piece of tack - i would be a better rider etc

Now must admit i think he has a point..... so new October resolution is to get on and make do with what i have! but if i could just have....

I think the wanting something (tack, rugs material sort of things) is more execiting than actually getting it.
I went throught a stage of just buying everything i wanted, and when i had tried everything out most is now sitting in the tack room, cant be bothered to clean or oil as i did not have to work hard to get it.

What I want most I absolutely can not have:(

Otherwise, I have everything I need and don't actually need, or want, anything at all, material goods really don't do it for me. I have been in this house for almost four years now, I am getting bored with it, and I am waiting for my friend wanderlust to strike pretty soon.

Then I'll be eyeing up the market and looking to move, so in a way, the grass for me gets considerably greener after about four years.

All the time, especially when I have a really good horse, that doesn't try and kill me, and more often than not brings home a red rosette!!
I tend do go 'I am bored' (at this point husband raises eyebrows as if to say 'oh no, not again') sell said wonder horse, see a flash ad in the H&H and buy a horse that I can't ride one side of, and after a lot of heartache and falling off, sell it on for a loss!
I have done this 3 times now and have finally learnt to stick with what I have got and try to find new challenges with them - for example I am taking my sj to do dressage this winter, no doubt with hilarious consequences, but at least I can't complain of being bored.....
