I left my horses out tonight for the first time and with no rugs but its just so muggy and I am sitting here in just a T shirt (I am probably the coldest person in the world too!) so I am sure they are ok and they got to go in the big field.

If they come rushing to the gate in the morning desperate to come in - I shall feel very guilty

Mine have been naked for over a week. But you're right - tonight is so hot and muggy that if your neds could speak they'd thank you for taking their overcoats off! Sleep well!!!

Oh, I'm not a fairy, and could sleep outside with my scales basking in the moonlight

TB mare, however, has a different view about what constitutes warm.
In the hottest weather, when all other horses are sweating in the shade, though, she's lying flat out in full sun, basking blackly.

Are you quite mad?
My TB mare is a 'delicate flower' and could well expire if dew were to touch her without the protection of a rug.

Hmm - so is one of my mares but she's got to be roughed off some time and its a lot later this year than previous years!

Mine come in for the day in the summer - they can't stand the flies and although they don't realise - its keep check on their waistbands!

my two Tbs have been out naked the last two nights, I woke up in a panic this morning when I realised it had rained overnight but they survives and didnt melt in the rain to they are naked again tonight.

Oh heck, glad i am not the only one. I have left mine naked too as it is really warm and to stay mild thro night. It is almost midnight and i am hoping they are ok. If i had someone here to stay with my little boy, i would be going up to cover them up. My T/b was the only one shivering in the field with a 220g rug on when it rained last week, everyone else had just a rainsheet on and they were fine.
I hate the stress of horses lol

Merlin is naked for the second night..... mind you, after seeing the sight of him plastered in mud this morning, I very nearly put it back on again!!!!!

QR: Phew - Glad I can tell my horses that they were not the only ones to rough last night, tomorrow morning!

How pathetic are we all? - Why do we worry so much about them?

I hope she's going to be ok!! I'm sure she will be fine and love it. She is moulting so badly still, its just coming and coming and coming. Fingers crossed I'll be able to give her a bath at the weekend and get some of the grime out of her coat
