Yes - but it’s something to look forward to which helps get through the bleakness.
This winter seems to have been particularly shite. More snow, more wet, ground either sodden or rock solid.
All that with COVID depression, lockdowns etc doesn’t help.

don’t miss it - it will come again! Chin up :)

I was thinking this morning how well he'd done schooling yesterday and I was looking forward to riding him again...then I looked outside, heard the cold wind and was grateful he was with his sharer today and I could have a duvet day of my own.

Hurry up spring, I'm ready for you.

Yes! Dint miss the horse flies (really bad here) but I need the grass to dry up to teach Rigsby to go on the lorry. Once he can load, we will be off having jollies all over!

I am so looking forward to summer so I can start riding again. Keep looking at my saddles and wondering when I'm going to use them again. Bridleways here are either waterlogged or blocked so can't get out at all right now. Winter sucks

I just miss being able to go outside "safely" and I'm not even talking Covid...

I've lost count of the amount of times I've been on my arse from the ice/snow, I've been blown away by the wind (and lost my favourite hat) and have considered the option of a boat to actually make it out my front door.

I cannot flippin wait for summer!!! - but we are up in Scotland so it might be a long long wait!

It's definitely harder this year with the lack of being able to plan with covid!
I hope everyone on this thread has an amazing horsey summer this year! We all definitely need it

absolutely!
I had big plans (not big but big for us!) to help bring my lad on over the winter after the shit show spring/summer we had.

This year has got away from us all and it’s triggered huge anxiety that my horse is on borrowed time with me. I posted another thread about it which kind HHOers reassured me.

2020 went very quickly but by no means in a good way.

I usually walk laps of the paddocks a couple of times a day for a bit of exercise, but today I got to the uppermost paddock and thought "sod this" and went back indoors. What with the snow and arctic wind, it was absolutely brutal out there.

It's been like this since Christmas.

However, looking at the long range forecast it does look like temperatures might picking up in the second half of February. ?

Yes it's freezing here! Although when the wind drops I actually prefer the cold weather to the milder winter weather as the mud will dry up for a few days. ?
