anyone else put off riding due to mud?

I have a wonderful field but landlocked by the most horrendous mud swamp and have to walk through it to get in and out of my field, just puts me off taking them out especially as one of mine wears hoof boots, then I end up with muddy boots for riding, thats if I manage to keep them on, its just horrid.

Nope, mud doesn't bother me but the ice we have atm is meaning that I cannot ride
I want to but is too dangerous

You don't need to find an excuse not to ride if you don't want to don't and don't feel guilty about it either.

No, mud doesn't put me off at all if its windy & raining or icy then I wouldn't ride.

Yes but only because my boys constantly losing shoes in the lovely clay mud we have here!

Mud? Havent seen that for 2 weeks now as its been frozen solid so the poor horses are struggling to walk across it (being very rutted etc.)! I desperately want to ride my horse at home but only have paddocks to ride in and they're frozen solid with 2 inches of snow on top currently. Am hoping to go ride a friends horse later (with the luxury of an indoor school) but have the worry of the track being an ice-rink (oh and the roads being very snowy...)!

The mud doesn't out me off but very icy here today with snow as well!!

Mud always puts me off, much prefer snow! Mud they risk tendon issues. And before anyone jumps on me, we live in Cumbria, the wettest place in England, so lots and lots of thick mud which sucks shoes off, mine aren't shod, and pull their tendons if they get stuck. So at this time of year the ideal is very cold, staying cold so snow doesn't melt then refreeze as ice.

agreed, hate mud, much prefer snow. not a fan of ice though Mud and frosty slipperyness here so quiet week for my beasts

After riding in the school yesterday was going to go round the fields but didn't as so muddy didn't want to trash the track.
