I try and ride in the mornings about 3 times a week before work. easier for me as I am home based and so don't have to travel to work... very grateful to now be spending commuting time riding.

so anyone else do the same? have to admit, getting up early is often difficult but once I'm at the farm I'm always glad to have made the effort. Also find it sets me up for the day and kick starts my day.

Same as you, work from home so try to get to yard as early as i can, however something always crops up to be done first and i seem to end up working late most evenings! Much prefer morning riding especially in the winter and not so many cars on the roads either - got to be a good thing.

This winter I plan to start a few mornings a week, Daylights my problem at next and in the morning !

I'm going to give it a go anyway

The earliest I can get on board is 7.30 - it's just not light enough to hack out before then.

Having said that - the roads round by me are quite busy between around 8.00-9.15 with people doing the school run, so avoid those times.

i wouldn't venture out on the roads at that time... we just do some schooling. the early morning mist coupled with windy country roads are a no go.

the main plus for me is the lack of other people. the yard is quiet bar a handful of people and i get the school all to myself. bliss!

I do occasionally do a quick ride 'round the block' and find myself even later for work than normal

However, I really need to be finished on the yard by 8am at the very latest so don't think I'll be able to do that for much longer now - probably be February before I get the chance again

I dont have to do any road work, I hack out straight on to common land, so I'm regularly out at 6am or even in the pitch black during the winter. Makes me feel like Dick Turpin

The roads round us seem to really busy at he weekends and tea time, but there isnt really any industry/shops or schools where we ride just big popular country pubs! its bliss to get out of Bath first thing and leave all the mums to it.

Most days I get up at 6 to ride before school, normaly schooling, but 2 people do hack past me every day at about 6.45, but it wouldn't do it for me.

Twice a week I have to get up at 5.30am because of my work hours, I have ridden a couple of times at that time, but generally George has one of the days as his day off so I can just spend some time with him, and the other day I usually lunge him.

I get up at 5.30 every day, I sort my three pones out, then down to the village to sort out another three, then either I ride about 7, or as soon as it is light. Three days a week I work at local boarding kennels and have to be there for 8.30am. By the time I'm home, walked the dogs again I'm usually too pooped to ride, so early riding is for me!

walk dogs, up at yard by 6.45am, muck out and do hay, on board by 7.15, school or hack (all off road) until 8.15. go home, feed dogs, shower and at work by 9.30am

*YAWN* god yes, up at 6am, lightly schooled, home to get ready for work. And am SO tired but I enjoy it more in the mornings..makes it a lovely, relaxed start to the day and means the works done if I decide not to work her after work

I have thought about doing this, but I have to leave for work by 7.30, and have 2 to muck out, have to be up at 5.30 as it is, I don't think I could cope with any earlier, I struggle to cope with this!
