I know CinamonToast hurt her leg and there was the other member who sliced her finger, my injury pales in comparison.

I was cantering Ruby on a hack last week, she tripped and face planted the floor, I flew over her head and landed on my arm with a bit of a thud, luckily she wasn't bothered in the slightest and started to graze, checked her over and got back on. I'm ok but have a big bruise that doesn't seem to want to go!

myself no but just had an ambulance and ambulance helicopter at the yard because a livery's 2 year old boy has been kicked in the head...accidents always waiting to happen!

not yet, he's not being taken to our local hospital but one that specialises with head injuries. I didn't want to interfere too much but the owner of the pony who kicked him said he was screaming (good thing!) but then he was drifting in and out of consciousness so fingers crossed for him!

Ouch!! That looks sore !!

Im still sporting an injury from August last year, I fell off the mare I was loaning, she went one way and I went the other and stupidly put my foot out to break my fall, and dislocated my big toe, thought I had sprained it, got back on , made my mare jump the jump and then painfully got off.

My husband took me to A&E that evening as he was adamant I had broken something, as my foot was huge, in major pain and couldnt put any weight on it.

Had my toe re alined, and had to wait for the soft tissue damage to heal ... Im still waiting, have now been referred to a orthopedic surgeon who has referred me for an MRI as he thinks something may be torn :(

Im two weeks out of right below knee cast (fractured talus bone) following a fall off my horse out hacking - she didnt take kindly to being stalked by two scramblers who decided that it would be fun to overtake us at high speed (and noise). First bad injury (after countless scrapes) but cant wait to get back in the saddle in a few weeks.

My mum's mare broke one of my little toes - I was hoof picking and my horse bit her and she wobbled so much with fright I actually thought she was going to fall over! So I let go of her hoof not thinking about where my feet were and she stomped it down on my toes... oops!
Then my lad broke the other little toe a few months later by accidentally standing on it and then resting his weight on that leg  fat lump! ;):D
Other than that I always come home with inexplicable scratches and little bruises when I've been to the horses but they don't really count ha ha! :D

Keep us update Sophstar! my thoughts are with him! how horrible :( poor mother and the owner of the Horse must be feeling awful too.

Some sore sounding injuries on this thread! *healing vibes to you*

Wow, Sophstar, a nearly two-year-old child literally ran into my 3yo mare's back leg a couple of nights ago. We'd just finished picking-up-feet practise which makes her really free with her hind feet, yet she stood stock still when that happened. Reading what you wrote made me even more grateful my lass was so solid.

I'm just suffering from a might-have-been moment.

Just had an update from the owner whose pony kicked the little boy...

He's just gone into surgery with a fractured skull as pressure needs to be released but the doctors say he should be fine and make a full recovery:o

Poor little guy, hope his mum keeps him safe, it's my big real worry that a little one will get kicked.

Lauren, have you tried deep massage on the bruise? Arnica? I bet that was stiff and sore.

Hunter93, what the heck happened?! Was the eye socket broken? Eye injuries make me cringe. Is it ok now?

Some of those injuries look sore! I'm 10 days post op following shoulder arthroscopy and bursectomy thanks to my youngster managing to dislocate my shoulder while I was picking out her feet last October. Hoping to be back in the saddle asap, but in the meantime I'm enjoying watching my trainer and friend riding my girls for me.
Hope everyone heals well, and cinnamontoast, how's the leg coming on?

I fell off Tuesday night and I wasnt even on the horse! Decided to ride my OH's mare (she's 16.3hh+) so bit of difference to my 15.1h!)

I put my foot in the stirrup to get on and Amber decided to walk off, so I stopped, told her off and I tried again. Again she started walking off and this time started breaking into a trot and was heading towards the fence of the school so I tried to steer her away from said fence and to give me more room to break free. She then knocked me over, I fell and landed splat! Hit my head on floor and ended up in a daze! Head banging, blurred vision, totally disorientated and covered in the black marks from the school surface ( its made of shredded tyres), got back on, walked once round the school then thought better of it and got off. Went to A+E, am ok apart from whip lash to my neck and bruising to my ribs, very very painful when doing things like washing my hair and lifting my head off the pillow and painful to my ribs when I laugh or bend over! Could have been a lot worse though

These injuries and accidents make the bite mark on my backside that doesn't even hurt insignificant.

Swift recovery to you all!!

six weeks ago when it was very cold I put a hole in a tendon (achilles) mounting horse, felt it go! Physio/doctor advised controlled walking rather than complete box rest, although "friends" pointed out at my age i probaby should be quietly PTS as I'd never run in the grand National again. Nothing to show for the injury except a limp but it is getting better slowly and i have started riding again. Lesson learned, I'd never school a horse without warming up properly and i should do the same with myself!

Have used Arnica yes, didn't do much. Sophstar, I hope the little boy will be ok. It's times like these when you realise just how much we trust these animals, which can break us so easily.

Well I am sporting a horrific and disfiguring dressage induced injury

I have a sore scabby patch the size of a 10p on the back of my knee where my smart show boots rubbed at the weekend

At the moment I have a lovely friction burn across three fingers when my new horse spooked at something and pulled away from me today. I can just about make a fist again, but its going to be a couple of days before I can hold reins with any kind of dexterity again :roll eyes:

I have just (well mostly) recovered from a ACL, Meniscus, Postlateral corner reconstruction.

Fell off a friends horse from canter and decided to land on my feet off of a 17.1, not my greatest idea as fell sideways and ripped my knee from its socket doing a lot of damage in the process.

I really don't know how to add photos on here or I would.
I have 6 screws and a plate holding my knee together. I've so far touch wood not come off my horse yet, I now have a point two back protector that I wear at all times, gives me the extra confidence.

My friend has recently come off my horse and instead of going for the open space in the middle of the school she decided to go for the fence, fence won and she broke her collar bone quite badly. :(

Dont we just love them :)

Wednesday morning my horse spooked and slammed her back foot down as I was picking out her hooves straight onto my foot. I now have a very bruised and swollen foot which amazingly is not broken or fractured.

Snap laurenbay!! Cantering along a track 3 weeks ago tomorrow, 4 year old tripped and we both went flying!! I have separated my collar bone and shoulder and am waiting to see if they are operating :-( needless to say boy is back in field enjoying the grass and I am fed up :-(

That sounds painful!

It is :-( I am also the most impatient person in the world, could only have a week off work and am desperate to be riding again :-( apparently its a common riding/biking injury!

Broken ribs, yearling kicked the proverbial out of me pinning me against the wall with her bum (she stands at 14.3)
Hadno time off work and did it just before Easter, still not able to ride, lifter bend, they anticipate another 4 weeks!
Typical as the weather has been quite good!
And patience? Not sure I have any!
