Anyone else suffer...

Yesterday was clear and when I jumped the second last fence it dawned on me that I was clear and had one fence to go

and then bang we ran out of the last fence

I've noticed I either knock the last fence, run out or I take it down with my foot as we jump it

So does anyone else suffer and what's the cure

The cure it to not relax until your over the last fence!!!!

If your anything like me then you get to the second last, relax, take your leg off, drop the reins and the horse goes 'oh its over, I'll just stop and relax too' then Oops, theres another fence and neither of you are ready so you are likely to have a problem with it!!!!!

Jump each fence individually and NEVER relax tills its over!!!!

ummm ride the finish like a jump, like your going to get time faults... shift the anxsity.. lol, doesn't really solve anything but at least you wont take the fence!

Did you do any other classes? If so, how did you get on in those?

LOL I think you are all right as I do finish jumping at the second last fence

CM I did the led class for barren RID mare and got pull in 2nd but after trotting up for the judge she came 5th. He said she was swinging in trot - don't know what he meant?? If anyone does please tell me

I did the special class were the prize was an embryo transfer package but I think the judge had the horse picked as it was over before it started! And then I did the working hunter. I was a bit worried as they didn't state the height of the fences when I entered but it was ok as the highest jump was about 90cm. I was a nervous wreak going in as well as I fell off at the SJ championships last week and even though I thought it didn't affect me I think it did as I felt I was going to die! So I wasn't too disapointed with the run out as I was just chuft to complete the round in one piece

I used to get that.
My answer was to get my mum to stand at the last fence and shout 'kick, kick kick' at me as I was coming up to the last one. It sounded ridiculous but worked a treat!!!
