A livery place opened up quite near to me about a year ago. There are just a few acres, a sand arena with a few jumps and a couple of stables. No-one lives on site.

Anyway, today I went past and there is a sign on the road verge saying "Ponies for Sale, from £50" !!!!!!!!

Well I think that is awful. I just have a vision of some kid saying to non-horsey parents that they want a pony, and parents seeing that sign and thinking "oh, ok, ponies are only £50, we'll get one and it can live in the garden shed." Recipe for disaster.

I'm tempted to call in and see what they have that is only £50.

The sign disappeared for a while and now it is back again but the "from £50" has been painted over.

Do you think they are on HHO?

Anyway, I have no objection to anyone selling a pony for £50, but I hope that they do a bit of a check on people buying from them.
