I've made up Christmas presents for the entire yard. The horses that is, not the people. That's 23 horses including my 4.
Was making them for mine and felt guilty that Santa wouldn't be leaving anything for the others. Nothing fancy. Just a small plastic bag with some carrots, an apple and some horse treats, labelled with a Christmas label and hung out of reach with pretty Christmas ribbon. The Dutch don't do Christmas like the English so I thought I'd play Santa.

Aww, that's lovely of you.

I'm an instructor and all the clients I taught today (plus one who had to cancel due to an injured horse) got a chocolatey treat for them and either carrots or stout for their horse

That's a really lovely thought. Well done you ... Not soft (or stupid at all).

Happy Christmas. I hope your generosity is appreciated by all who received your gifts.

That's lovely. Our yo leaves every horse a carrot and apple each Xmas. There,s 40 liveries so it's a big undertaking. It's a really nice touch. X

Our block at the yard has gone a bit mad this year - my pony gave the others a bag of apples each, and then everyone else joined in and I now have two bags of treats, a packet of polos, a packet of strong mints and a bottle of wine to get through. Think the wine was for me - don't like to imagine what the mare would be like if she had a wee alchoholic refreshment!

My yard does this. I gave out a wee gift bag with carrots, polos and Ferro Roches and received oodles of polos, carrots, apples, horse treats, chocolates, candy canes and little human treats all in little gift bags. One livery gave every horse a stocking with their name on it! #spoiled

Aw :) I left a little packet of those likit treats by each stable with a label signed by my horse! My horse got his very own stocking filled with carrots and apples which he enjoyed until I took it away!

I used to for my old yard - a stocking with carrots, parsnips, apples and polos and would be on the yard at 5am to deliver them before anyone else got to the yard.

This year I didn't as while I wanted to, I couldn't stretch to 90 stockings!

Think this is perfectly normal thing to do, It's little things like this that really count. I've had a S*** day but this really cheered me up. Thankyou.xxxx
