I got a pair of these at the beginning of May, and they've been brilliant, but the velcro seems to be getting less and less sticky.

They get power hoses every night, and I clean out the velco, but today Mist came in with one missing... Luckily I found it.

Anyone else had this problem? or do they just give up the ghost after a few months :-(

had this problem a couple of months ago, i was told by stockist to use the little black keepers on the velcro, that worked but i was not impressed by the boots, i have been told the sports ones are better.

I use the Sport on hinds and Simples infront and honestly haven't noticed a problem- but we do only roadwork in them- for us thats mincing along the roads whilst horse prunes hedges.

The soles are very worn on the Sports but thats about it.

rather than the keepers that came with them, I use 3 or 4 plaiting bands on each strap. Its easier to fasten them than with the proper keepers and I've had no bother since I've started doing this.

Mine aren't used for turnout but our "usual" hack takes us through really deep mud and the straps used to loosen. They stay put fine now.

I have to say that I've never had any bother with the big velcro bits coming undone - even when the thin straps came loose.

Thanks - think the little black keepers are long gone :-(

I know part of the problem is that they are used for turnout, and the field (strangely enough!) is very water logged....

Just been looking at boa's as an alternative....

I don't think the sports one's would work for Mist as her hooves are quite round.

I just use plaiting bands on the straps and that prevents them from coming undone. I have only just strating using the bands and i have used the boots for about 18 months now but i don't use them much, only when he starts to feel the stones in the spring and at the end of summer the rest of the time he is fine.
