Broken back was doing okay, then nasty consultant man poked it :(

Then it was almost doing okay, but the cold weather came. After a day out in it yesterday, I could not sit down comfortably in the evening :( :(. Gave up and went to bed :(

Ouch.

So is it just me? Am I just the biggest wimp since the dawn of wimpdom?

Whinge.

Nope. Not just you.

My knee which I smashed up three years ago is complaining bitterly.

So is my back (which is no where near as bad as yours. I haven't even done anything to it apart from walk with a limp for the last three years :D)

And to cap it all my left hip has decided to join in. Presumably just for the hell of it.

I hate winter!

Get the hot water bottle out. That's what I do when I want to watch telly without a symphony of aching joints

No my dear, the cold always gets to my previously injured joints, no matter how old the injury!!! And hubby had a lot of work done on his shoulder (2 rotator cuff repairs and a/c (?) joint removed, and he suffers in the cold. I think its worse if the bone has been damaged, mine is mostly tendon/ligament/muscle/cartiledge (SP) etc.

You're nowhere near wimpdom lol!!!!!

Hugs xxxxxxxx

Thank you folks :)

I wanted to go out to play, but right now the thought of a hot bath is more appealing.... It will not go down well as I was going to take D2 shopping for jeans, but I want to curl up in a corner and be wimpy instead and maybe have a little cry just for good measure.

So pee'd off.

So much to do, but can't do any of it :(. Can't even take D2 to play snowballs and sledging :(:(:(

A Mantra For Everyone!
I must not ride when feeling ill. I must not ride when feeling ill. I must not ride when feeling ill.

And another one!
When falling off, I must not try and land on my feet. When falling off I must not try and land on my feet. When falling off I must not try and land on my feet.

*wobbles off to find that hot bath*

Isn't that the truth. That's how I did my knee. Never again.

Hope it eases off after a bath hun. I'm sure D2 understands. I'm going to go and buy a Christmas tree as I can do that in the warm :D

Sorry have to agree Mrs M, every old (and new injury) that I have in this worn out body of mine hurts or aches in this weather:( In fact I can usually tell if the weather is going to change as the aches start in advance, who needs the weathermen:D

Sorry to hear you are hurting Mrs M - if it helps, you are not alone!

My HMS means my joints hurt all the time, but cold/damp weather makes it worse. Added to that, I have gone from just poo picking a paddock for our two ponies who were living out, I now have my daughter's new horse in, with one of the ponies to keep him company, so mucking out stables is killing my joints, and now the taps have frozen, I am having to bring water down from the house in jerry cans. I am in agony, and moving like a 90 year old on a bad day, and its only the start of the winter!

Hope you feel a bit better soon. :)

Your not the only one Mrs M.

Put on stronger meds this week for my knees and there is a big improvement (No more wine for me though :(), went to have a lesson on my superstar of a horse yesterday (such a star!) but had an accident in the cold.. not on him.. Got his tack and while walking, fell directly on my knees on concrete (talk about bad luck). In so much pain today from the lesson & fall and this cold weather makes me walk around like I am 90yo+ :( Bring on summer I say!

Nope not the only one! I am coming up to my 3rd xmas feeling like this and it's got worse since my last nerve blocks and epidural :(
I am going to go back to the docs this week as it's killing me!

I have a gorgeous 7 year old TB in the field that I am dying to get on but darent incase my back goes pop again :(

All I can say is Bah humbug lol

Very gentle hugs to all broken people.

In my case, it's the muscles near the break that hurt. They seem to get inflamed (from the cold?!) and any pressure on them is just no fun at all

A few years?

Okay. There's hope :D

Consultant wants to operate if it doesn't calm down by February and I'm trying everything in the book to ward it off

I sit there with a hottie bottie on my back all day at the moment lol :D It does help a bit x

Really really really sore right hip today probably inflamation from a large prolapse in my last disk a few years ago, it keeps spasming every time I try and get up from the chair and hurts like you wouldn't believe. Massive row with the o/h on top of it, throwing his toys out the pram cos he may have to actually do something for a change.

Feeling very sorry for myself. GRUMPH!! :(

I'm sore too Mrs M. Took my brace off on Friday evening getting ready for my weekly night out and when it came off I felt like someone had punched the broken bit. Took a good few seconds to try and catch my breath! Went out anyway and even wine wouldn't numb the pain so had to come home early feeling like I've taken 5 steps back.
Has been sore and horrible ever since. Am hoping to go and visit my horse in a little while, might cheer me up a bit.

Hope you feel much better soon. Am keeping my fingers crossed for you for Feb!
