My ultra laid-back mare has turned into a demon! Charged off bucking up the field last night when I turned out, not like her at all :D

We've just moved them onto their winter grazing, and I suspect with the milder weather, there's still a lot more fructans in the grass than I anticipated...

Anyone else having fun with fresh horses at the moment? :)

Yep, both my horses still have loads of grass in their paddocks and the mild and windy weather has turned them into spring lambs.

Roll on the frost lol

Yes, I went for a walk round the field last night and horses decided to help. By help I mean broncing, walking about on their hind legs  They could easily have gone off to play in a different part of the field but I had to endure this the whole way round :) - my great heavy cob/oaf of a horse was like a burst balloon :D

Ummm, yes. The laid back placid TB that we bought 5 months ago has turned into something quite different! He is still good though, but a lot fresher, and a bit more argumentative (I have the bruise that shows where he had had enough of schooling, and put me in the fence, twice, becuase I am sooo slow at reacting to his bum heading towards the fence ). All the boys have been galloping round the field, broncing and bucking too, and the girls, well they decided to break into the boys field the other day - they are all acting like youngsters!

Glad to hear it's not just my mare with a spring in her step :p

She usually so laid-back, it's quite nice to see having a blast about, just hoping she focuses when I ride this evening ;)

Yes, it is nice to see them hooning around the field having a grand old time, as long as none of them come in looking sorry for themselves with injuries..... then I would be wearing my not impressed face

Yes mine is a loon. Monday had a very forward ride from my fat lazy boy, came in all sweaty and fully clipped) where I couldnt finish till his done what we went out for.
Last night I decided to lunge and normally can get him to move on the lunge, he decide to spend 20 mins bucking.
Am looking forward to tonights antics.

Yes mine is a loon.

Sorry Jojo, this made me lol! That is exactly the word I was looking for ;)

I think I may lunge before I ride this evening, just in case!

We're on clay, apparently YO isn't too thrilled with the state of the field after all the hooning about in this rain :o

Yes, my mare was on her toes yesterday when I took her out for a ride. Think it was the wind and the leaves swirling around her hooves, especially in the woods. Its a lovely time of year with the changing colours and I think shes feeling fit and well.

My daughter rang me earlier and said Bellzilla was feeling pretty fresh and fly, said it was like being at Alton Towers all over again (but in a good way!)
