Over the last week both of my arabs have turned into complete spook monsters. They are jumping every few strides and looking for something that isn't there. This has happened since the last lot of rain we had so I'm assuming it's the grass sent them off their heads! Has anyone else's gone like this?

I've kept them in today to see if it makes a difference keeping them off the grass during the daytime as I value my life!

My horse went nuts a couple of weeks back!! (see the thread i posted!). He started going a tad loopy as soon as he went on the spring grass and gradually got worse...

We haven't had any rain for a while now though, so he's started to settle again (thank god!)

Yes my horse has been on his toes the last week or so, but.... I love it!

He is so laid back usually he's horizontal, but we had a lovely gallop round the fields last night! I'm making the most of it while it lasts!

My horse has been fine for me but not my sharer, who is just as experienced. He has always been sharp but has gone off the rails this week - not wanting to be caught (although not putting up much of a fight either) and spooking at everything. Apparently as soon as she put her foot in the stirrup on Wed he was off, and he threw her off twice through spinning and then galloping off. I hacked him out yesterday and he was fine, think the test will be taking him into the school again this evening! I think it's just the spring grass combined with the fact that she's only been riding him for a month (2x a week) and is still getting to know him - she is making a decision on whether she still wants to ride him this weekend so fingers crossed that he behaves on Sunday!

Yes, its great !

My mare is just like riding a bottle of pop at the moment, she is so much fun. Rode this morning and had lots of leaping about, cantering on the spot, she was full of it. We even popped a little cross pole and and have a few leaps after that too. Brilliant, long may it last:)

Yes, my cob has turned into a spooky mentalist! Must admit I am enjoying the forward going and am having some lovely canters! Normally in summer I have to check he us still alive as he can be so ploddy.

The spooking is annoying though, I can see him looking for things every moment. He spooked at a pebble yesterday.

Lana is normally very laid back and she has become more forward going which is great but she is spooky to the point of being dangerous. Yesterday she had me hanging round her neck twice!

Zara is always forward going and bunny hops the majority of the ride which again I love but she has become so strong that I cannot ride her in company.

I am managing to keep my boy together just about, but the spooks are increasingly theatrical. As its windy today I shall not bother to ride as he is a tit in the wind anyway, so its just asking for trouble at the moment!
