One of mine really isnt bothered about his feed over the last few days. Bit worrying really, coz he usually eats everything and anything in sight!!
Could it be the heat maybe?
Anyone elses not bothered about their food at the moment?

Are you down to the bottom of the feed bag/bin? Feed goes off quickly in this hot weather. If you feed sugar beet, only soak enough for one meal as it can go sour.
Try a fresh bag of feed and slightly smaller quantities - he'll soon be hungry again!

Could be the heat or may be grass is tasting better. Does he otherwise look happy and well and behaving the same as normal?

Might be worthwhile checking to see if he has a temperature as not eating was the first sign I had of one of my boys not being well on Sunday. He too is very greedy and has to be pretty ill before he doesn't touch food. Turns out he has some kind of infection and wasn't eating because of the high temperature caused by he infection.

Hope your lad picks up soon.

depending on what the feed is it might be that he is just not that hungry or that the dry weather is tickling his throat putting him off hard feed?
try feeding after sunset or later when its much cooler, or try a more juicy food? or both?

but -yes - some horses -& even us humans - can just go off our food when its too hot.
sa long as he is not sick and is drinking just for a few days i would not be worried.
