need a regular check up with the physio?

Was warming up Ty for jumping when I noticed he had a funny action on his near fore....got off and lunged and sure enough there was definately some tightness around his shoulder....

He was lame last autumn so had the physio out, she pulled him around and he was fine.

Obviously I don't know his history so he may have suffered a nasty fall on that shoulder - just wondering if anyone elses horses have this?

Annoying as I was thinking to myself that I'm lucky I don't have a WB as they always seem to go lame - karma me thinks

My lad is a Hann x TB & we do both Dressage & Show Jumping with him. We get his back checked out every 6 months by a really good physio. This keeps him sound & working well. Obviously should we feel he's twisted himself or whatever in between times we'd have her out again. We look upon her visits a 'ongoing maintenance'.

I think he's always going to need someone out.....I think it was about 6 months ago so he's probably due another visit.....he's on joint supplement but his linseed oil has run out - think it must make a difference or i guess it could just be coincidence!

My TB needs check ups / maintenance sessions about every three months, but then she is a bit of a special case. My WB is having some treatment at the mo but when that is done I'll have him checked out every 6 months, just to make sure everything is in order.

Mac was on monthly physio visits along with his water tredmill sessions, pampered boy.

YO did offer that we could get the physio to look over Atty yesterday but money is a bit tight and I have the saddler out on Tuesday so since he seems fine I skipped it. Boy do I feel guilty about it! Mind you when they are going well I always worry that physio will some how make them worse!

My physio reckons that some horses can just have a short, tight muscle just as humans can. I have short & tight hamstrings which I have always had & will always have probs with, no past injury just bad conformation I suppose! My horse has a similar problem in his shoulder that will need regular physio & massage (about every 6 months or so)
