We have moved fields at the yard to their summer fields (ha, 'summer'?!?) and they have gone from being a bit 'spread out' to being next door to each other (big geldings, small geldings inc a shetland colt, and mares) and they have ALL lost the plot! Expected the colt to go a bit loopy being next to the mares (he is fenced off them with electric and then post and rail and is only 30 inches tall anyway!) but the mares are galloping around evry five mins and even the 24 year old retired gelding is joining in the fun!
All mares totallly distracted, friend couldn't even get her green 5 year old to lunge sinsibly yesterday!!
Anyone else think maybe the grass is coming through?! Weather probably not helping!

But I have to say despite all this excitement and the weather being really vile I was thrilled with our 4 year old yesterday - everything else was leaping about and being a total pain, and he was just a bit more forward than usual! Nothing too exciting at all thankfully!

Oh this weather! I'm gonna emigrate. My fields are all like a quagmire and my coloured is pink all over his white bits (we live in Devon and the mud is bright pink, honestly!).

I've not managed to get out on His Highness yet this week; went for a quick trot on Sunday afternoon and that was it.

I'm gonna try and get out this afternoon; anticipate its gonna be like trying to sit on a farting Chinese dragon tho' - wish me luck!

Haha yes, at the moment cantering during schooling tends to be leaps and bucks (out of excitement, not malice or pain), he has a lot of energy at the moment!!
